Welcome Back, Maroons!
I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer break. The faculty and staff at Perry Public Schools have been busy gearing up for the first day of school.
Over the summer, we have worked on several different projects to maintain and improve our facilities, including deep cleaning, painting, repairs, and another huge technology upgrade.
New technology was installed at the Junior High and High School, which was made possible by a grant received from the Malzahn Family Affiliated Fund (MFAF). Classrooms received a new or updated interactive white board, student chromebooks, iPads, and teachers received a new laptop computer with a docking station.
The Field House is undergoing some exciting renovations after 51 years of serving Perry athletes and coaches. Improvements include new flooring, lockers, ceiling, paint, updated bathrooms, rearranging some interior walls, new pads around the practice mat area in the wrestling room, and much more.
We also hired 17 new staff members to fill vacancies over the summer and are happy to have them on our team. We have a current enrollment of 1,023 students. We expect that number to grow over the next few days.
Each site will host families for Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, August 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Use this time to visit your child’s classroom, meet teachers, receive your class schedule, turn in shot records, bring medications, and more.
We are eager to welcome students back for the first day of school on Thursday, August 14. Doors open at 7:45 a.m. and the first bell rings at 8:10 a.m. View the school website or mobile app to find lunch menus, car line drop-off/pickup maps, bus rider rules, and more information as your family prepares for the first day of school.
Lastly, I encourage all families to submit a Free & Reduced application for your child’s school meals. Your participation in this benefits our school and community even if you do not qualify.
If you are new to Perry Schools, I’d like to extend a special welcome! Know that our teachers, administrators and staff are here to support you and your child, so please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Here’s to wishing everyone a happy and successful 2025-2026 school year!
Sincerely,
Chad Wilson
