PHS Aerospace and Aviation Program Receives Remote Control Helicopter Donation

Knowing Mrs. Hasenfratz wanted to ensure the helicopters were put to good use; her friend, Linda Stevens, suggested the PHS Aerospace program. The donation has already become an important part of this year’s aerospace curriculum. Sophomore aerospace students are working to rebuild and restore the helicopters, gaining valuable hands-on experience that ties directly into their studies.

Ron Dwyer, Aerospace and Aviation instructor, expressed his gratitude for the gift, noting its impact on students. “This donation is giving our students real-world opportunities to problem-solve, work with complex systems, and apply the engineering principles they are learning in class. We are so thankful to Mrs. Hasenfratz for entrusting us with her husband’s helicopters. They will not only honor his legacy but also inspire the next generation of innovators,” Dwyer said.

The PHS Aerospace and Aviation program continues to grow, offering students unique opportunities to explore careers in engineering, aviation, and aerospace industries while gaining practical skills that prepare them for the future.
