Upper Elementary 6th Grade Leadership Class Engages in Community Learning

Earlier this month, the class hosted a special panel of Perry High School students to gain perspective on leadership as they grow older. The 6th graders organized and managed the event entirely, assigning moderators, timekeepers, note takers, and greeters to ensure everything ran smoothly. The Perry High School panelists answered thoughtful questions about their own leadership experiences and served as outstanding role models for the younger students.

Just this week, the 6th Grade Leadership Class stepped into the community for a town tour, where they visited several local businesses to learn about leadership in the workplace. Students asked business leaders about how their organizations serve Perry, what leadership qualities are most valued, and what it takes to be hired at their business. Stops included Ditch Witch, Subsite Electronics, Exchange Bank, First Bank & Trust Co., Noble County Family YMCA, and Boom-a-Rang Diner.

Perry Public Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to these businesses for welcoming our students and investing in the development of future leaders.
