Earlier this summer, State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced a proposed, but currently unfunded, mandate that would require school districts to provide free meals to all students using existing budget dollars.
At this time, the mandate has not been finalized and Perry Public Schools has determined that covering the cost of meals for all students is not financially feasible without significant reductions to essential programs. As a result, meals will continue to be charged during the 2025-2026 school year, consistent with recent years.
Perry Public Schools strongly encourages all parents and guardians to fill out the Free and Reduced Application, regardless of financial status. By filling out this application annually, all PPS parents and guardians can play a key role in making sure Perry Public Schools maximizes funding eligibility. This application determines the level of funding Perry Public Schools receives in a variety of areas and the district appreciates your support by filling out the application.
In addition, Perry Public Schools is pleased to announce the return of Keystone Food Service as the district’s meal provider. After previously serving the district for more than a decade, Keystone is returning for the 2025-2026 school year with renewed commitment.
As part of this partnership, Keystone will provide a full-time, on-site food service director exclusively for Perry schools. The director will work closely with school staff and administrators to increase student meal participation and enhance the overall dining experience. Keystone is the only Oklahoma-based, family-owned child nutrition provider serving K–12 districts in the state.
