PHS Hires Brady Maxwell as next Lady Maroons Basketball Coach
Perry High School recently hired Brady Maxwell as head coach for the Lady Maroons basketball program. He will replace Jennifer Scott, who has taken a coaching job at another school.
He is coming to Perry from Glencoe Public Schools, where he is currently serving as the principal and has been the girls basketball head coach for the past three years. Prior to Glencoe, he spent time coaching and teaching at Covington-Douglas, Pioneer, Woodward, and Sentinel.
In his coaching career of 20-plus years, he has led many successful teams across multiple sports and racked up several achievements. Most notably, Maxwell has coached a state runner-up class B girls basketball team in 2008 and a state semi-finalist class A team in 2007. Outside of basketball, he’s also had a total of 10 state tournament appearances combined while coaching softball and baseball.
He was named Regional Coach of the Year and OGBCA All-State basketball coach in 2008, as well as Conference Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2018.
In the classroom, Maxwell will serve as the Geometry teacher at PHS.
Upon accepting the new position, Maxwell commented, "I am excited to join the Perry School District. I have lived in Perry for 11 years, and the timing was right to make the move to be a Maroon. I can't wait to get in the gym with the team this summer and start building for the basketball season."
