PHS Theater Class to Present "Stealing Lisa' Sunday, Oct. 11

The Perry High School Theater Class will take the stage this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for a performance of Stealing Lisa, a one-act comedy by playwright Matt Lyle.

Set inside the Louvre in 1911, the play puts a comedic spin on the real-life theft of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The famous painting was stolen from the Louvre in August 1911 and remained missing for more than two years before it was recovered.

Stealing Lisa turns this fascinating piece of history into a fast-paced theatrical farce filled with physical comedy, mystery and plenty of chaos. The story features a clueless inspector, bumbling officers, a scheming poet, a dramatic Picasso, a museum worker named Lucia, and a Greek Chorus, all caught up in the outrageous disappearance of the world’s most famous painting.

Community members are invited to join us Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for an entertaining afternoon of theater.

Admission is $5 per person or 1 canned food item to be donated to the Perry Food Pantry.

Come see how our PHS Theater students bring this hilarious historical caper to life!
