3rd Annual STEM Camp a Success!

Perry Public Schools recently concluded its 3rd Annual STEM Camp, welcoming approximately 130 students for three days of hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration. The camp, designed to immerse students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, continues to grow each year as an exciting summer opportunity for Perry students.

Campers were led by students from the Oklahoma State University College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology, who guided participants through a variety of engaging activities that encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation. Thanks to the partnership with the Malzahn Family Affiliated Fund, the camp remains completely free for Perry students, making STEM learning accessible to all.

Throughout the three-day camp, students participated in activities such as bottle rockets, slime mixing, pompom launchers, magnetic fishing poles, zipline carriers, and many more hands-on projects. Each activity was designed to strengthen critical thinking skills while giving students the chance to learn through experimentation and discovery.

Perry Public Schools STEM Coordinator Amanda Wilson said the district is grateful to continue offering this opportunity for students each summer. “We are incredibly thankful for the support that makes STEM Camp possible for our students,” Wilson said. “Experiences like this allow students to explore concepts in a hands-on way, build confidence in problem-solving, and strengthen skills they can carry back into the classroom. It’s exciting to see them so engaged and eager to learn.”

As Perry Public Schools continues to invest in STEM education, programs like STEM Camp help inspire the next generation of innovators while reinforcing the importance of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in education.
