Lady Maroons Put in Summer Work at Basketball Skills Camps

The Perry Lady Maroons basketball program hosted a successful week of summer skills camps at the Maroon Athletic Center, giving athletes the opportunity to sharpen their game ahead of a busy summer schedule.

The camps, organized by Perry Lady Maroons Head Coach Brady Maxwell, took place Tuesday and Wednesday for high school athletes and Thursday and Friday for junior high. Throughout the week, players focused on strengthening fundamental basketball skills, conditioning, teamwork, and overall game development.

“These girls have worked extremely hard this week,” Coach Maxwell said. “Summer is an important time for growth, and we’re excited to see their hard work continue to pay off as we head into team camp next week.”

The skills camps also served as preparation for the upcoming Perry Team Camp, which will be held May 26-28. Perry Girls Basketball will welcome 26 teams from surrounding areas, ranging from junior high to high school programs. Over the course of the three-day event, an impressive 97 basketball games will be played.

Perry Public Schools is proud of these student-athletes for their dedication and commitment to improving their skills throughout the summer.
