Junior High Students Compete at TSA State Qualifying Event

Three students recently represented Perry Junior High at the Technology Student Association (TSA) State Qualifying Event held in Guthrie. The students competed in different events with hopes of advancing to the state competition next month. Results are expected soon.

Seventh-grader Ruth Dvorak participated in the Prepared Speech competition. The regional event featured 24 students, with only 10 advancing to the state level.

Seventh-grade students Logan Whited and Maddox O’Dell competed as a team in the Forensic Technology event. More than 50 students participated in the regional competition, and only the top 12 teams will qualify for the state competition. The students are led by TSA advisor Laddie Rupp.

TSA stands for Technology Student Association. It is a national student organization focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. TSA allows middle and high school students to participate in technology and engineering competitions, develop leadership and teamwork skills, work on real-world problem-solving projects, and present projects through speeches, designs, and technical demonstrations.
