The Perry Junior High Academic Team earned a third-place finish at the Oklahoma Junior Academic Bowl Association (OJABA) Regional Class C Tournament held Saturday, February 21, in Bethel Acres.
Competing against 12 teams from across the region, Perry secured a top-three placement to qualify for the state competition. The team will now advance to the OJABA State Tournament on Saturday, April 18, at Dale Public Schools.
Throughout the regional tournament, Perry students demonstrated strong academic skill, composure under pressure, and outstanding sportsmanship. The PJH Academic Team coach, Shanna Sweet, noted the team’s poise and integrity as they represented Perry both in competition and in character.
With their state berth secured, the team will continue preparing to compete against the top qualifying schools from across Oklahoma in April.
