Perry FCCLA Shines at the Regional STAR Event Competition

Perry FCCLA students recently showcased their talent, dedication, and leadership skills at the Regional STAR Event Competition, earning top recognitions and advancing to the state level. The students’ hard work and commitment were evident as they competed in a variety of events focused on leadership, career preparation, and community impact.

Evie Robbins earned a bronze rating in the Teach or Train category, demonstrating strong instructional skills and subject knowledge. Bella King received a silver rating in Repurpose and Redesign, highlighting creativity and innovation through sustainable design.

Audrey Lapira and Cecelia Peak delivered an outstanding performance in Focus on Children, placing 3rd overall and earning a silver rating. Their achievement also qualifies them to advance to the State STAR Event Competition in March, where they will represent Perry FCCLA at the next level of competition.

Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are competitive FCCLA events in which members compete at the district, regional, state, and national levels. These events recognize students for their proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership development, and career preparation. With more than 30 STAR Events available, students may compete individually or as part of a team by identifying real-world issues related to families, careers, or communities, conducting research, and developing projects that promote positive change.

Perry FCCLA Advisor, Cory Vineld, shares “We are so proud of all students who participated and congratulate them on their success. Their accomplishments reflect dedication, creativity, and a strong commitment to leadership and service.”
