PEF AWARDS $23,000 IN GRANTS - FALL 2025

Perry Education Foundation Awards over $23,000 in Classroom Grants

The Perry Education Foundation (PEF) is proud to announce the recipients of its most recent round of educational grants, awarding over $23,000 to support innovative classroom projects and educational initiatives across the school district.

Grants were announced in December 2025 and teachers at each site were awarded at school by PEF representatives. Grant recipients and projects include Kevin Owen (Spring Science Project – Insect Collection), 4th Grade Teachers (4th Grade Rocket Launch & Chapter Books for Social Studies), Bryan Hayes (Encore #2 – Break a Leg), Caprecia Betchan (Penny Arcade), Patrick Norvelle (Gamified Learning), Shelynn Kelly (Focus on the Future – Digital Storytelling), Valerie Howell (Martial Arts Maniacs & Tickled about Tai Chi), Andrew Houghton (Tuning Towards Excellence), Kate Allred (Pottery for PHS), Kelly Frazier (Help Circling The State With Song & Making a Play and Making Noise), Stacy Ruth (All the Things), Jeff Zagar (Seeing the little things), Julie Milligan (Igniting Curiosity Through Labs), Mandy Vollmer/Amanda Tetik (Let Them Read), Heather Ritthaler (Tools for Success: Enhancing Focus and Accessibility), Shanna Sweet (Escape!), Malori Smith (1st Grade Snowmen). These grants are designed to enrich student learning, support educators, and foster creative approaches to education.

“The Perry Education Foundation is committed to investing in our teachers and students,” said Grady Parmley, Foundation Chair. “These grants directly impact classrooms and help provide opportunities that enhance educational experiences throughout our district.”

The Foundation awards grants to Perry educators every spring and fall. The next grant application is due in March. PEF extends its appreciation to community donors and supporters whose generosity makes these grants possible.
