WRESTLING HOMECOMING THIS THURSDAY 1/8/26

PHS Wrestling Homecoming - Thursday, January 8:

Perry High School Wrestling Homecoming will be held this Thursday, January 8, 2026 in the Maroon Athletic Center. 


The junior high and high school Maroons will host Perkins for Homecoming night. The evening will begin with the junior high boys dual at 6:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the junior high dual, the homecoming ceremony will commence. Following the coronation, the high school boys will take the mat. 


This year’s homecoming theme is “A Night to Remember.” The 2025-2026 PHS Wrestling Homecoming royalty includes Andrew Kukuk, Violet Nolte, Hayden Balderson, Abbi Bolen, Logan Cook, and Jaylynn Malcolm. The young Maroons serving as homecoming crown bearer and gift bearer during the coronation are Olivia Brown and Ash Cermak. 


The biographies for each homecoming court candidate follows.

ANDREW JAMES KUKUK is the son of Jeffrey and Christy Kukuk. He is the older brother of Madelynn and the late Hannah Raye Kukuk. His grandparents are Ray and Teresa Kukuk, Cindy and the late Danny VanMeter, and the late Cynthia Wilkerson. Andrew’s activities include four years of football, wrestling, and baseball, and one year of track. He’s been a member of the Student Council for four years and a four-year member of the National Honor Society. He is a two-year 1,000-pound club member, 2025 Lifter of the Year, three-year Granite Award recipient, recipient of the Maroon Mentality Award, Most Improved Wrestler Award, and VYPE Top 100 Award in 2025. He has made the Superintendent's Honor Roll all four years of high school. He was also on the Academic All-State Champion Baseball team in 2023 and a member of the PHS Baseball State Runner-Up team in 2024. He is a two-time wrestling state qualifier in 2024 and 2025, and as a junior, placed 3rd at state in 2025. Andrew is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Perry.  In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, weightlifting, playing guitar, poker, and video games, as well as hanging out with family and friends. Andrew’s favorite memory is qualifying for state in his sophomore year. Andrew’s future plans are to attend college and get a degree in physical education.

 

LOGAN SCOTT COOK is the son of Jessica Cook, Jonathan Freeman, Wes Cook and the late Rita Cook. He is the older brother of Jaxson Cook, Emersyn Cook, and Kardyn Freeman. He is the grandson of Scott Cook, the late Mary Cook, Timothy Glass, and the late Betty Lancaster. Logan has been in wrestling for six years and football for 10 years. He is a state qualifier, and a wrestling co-captain. Being a wrestler has taught him that succeeding comes from hard work and to embrace the hard times. His favorite high school memory is when he qualified for state his junior year, and the team and mat maids were all freaking out. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, and fixing his truck. Logan plans to enter the work force and get certified to be an electrician.

 

HAYDEN RYKER BALDERSON is the son of Jesse and Seleste Balderson, and the younger brother of Bentley Balderson.  He is the grandson of Steve and Sheila Zemp and Baldy, and Robin Balderson. Hayden has been wrestling for five years. He has been involved in the Student Council for four years, National Honor Society for four years, FFA for five years, and the Principal's Honor Roll for four years. He is a three-year Granite Award recipient. His favorite memory from wrestling was going to Texas and wrestling in a dual tournament this summer. Hayden's hobbies include hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family. After graduation, Hayden plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Architecture.

 

ABBIGAIL ROSE BOLEN is the daughter of Brandon Bolen, Consuela Dolezal, and Terry Mclin. She is the younger sister of Dakota Climer, Braiden Davis, Madison Crowell, Caleb Maly, and Mackinzie Cox. She is the granddaughter of Tina and Jeff Bonner of Shawnee, Connie and Gary Cellars of Shawnee, and Linda and Tom Dolezal of Billings. Abbi has been a varsity cheerleader for three years, a boys wrestling mat maid for six years, a member of Student Council for two years, a member of National Honor Society for two years, a member of National Art Honor Society for two years, is a two-time Academic State Champion with Perry Cheer, a Student Lion and Rotarian, and is a Girl State Alumni. Being a mat maid has taught her to have tough skin, be efficient, and make the most of everything because time really does fly. Her favorite mat maid memory is receiving the Maroon Mentality Award from Coach Rupp at the wrestling banquet her sophomore year. Abbi attends Life Church in Stillwater. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, surfing at the lake, and spending time with her family and friends. Abbi plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and major in Political Science with a minor in Pre-Law.

 

JAYLYNN MARIE MALCOLM is the daughter of Kathy Jack and the late Thomas Jack. She is the younger sister of Dee Bay, Larry Hoggatt, Becky Miller, Tammy Vance, and the late Jim Hoggatt. She is the granddaughter of the late Arthur and Elanor Jack, and the late Ada and Charles Gottfried. Jaylynn has been in cheer, track, Student Council, and National Honor Society for four years and has been in Youth and Government for three years. She is also involved in Youth on Main and is a Student Rotarian and Lion. She is a member of the PHS Cheer three-time State Academic Champion team. Being a cheerleader has taught her about the importance of good leadership and how to stay positive during challenging times. Her favorite cheer memory was winning Academic State Champion during her junior year for the third time. In her spare time Jaylynn likes to spend time with friends and family, reading, baking, and shopping with her mom. Jaylynn plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Nursing.

 

VIOLET NAKI NOLTE is the daughter of Keith and Lacinda Nolte. She is the older sister to Vidia and Victor Nolte. She is the granddaughter to Paul and Charlotte Nolte and Gragg and Teresa Pape. Violet has been a part of the girls wrestling program for five years. Her other activities include four years of softball and two years of track. She has also been active in Student Council for four years, National Honor Society for four years, National Art Honor Society for one year, and is a Student Lion and Rotarian. She has also maintained the Superintendent's Honor Roll over the past four years of high school as well. Violet enjoys cleaning, shopping, going to the beach, hanging out with her friends and family, and going on late night drives. Wrestling has taught her to not be afraid to step out of her comfort zone and be herself. Her favorite wrestling memory is whenever Barb, Jacy, Audra and her went to get the girls breakfast at the Tuttle tournament and instead of taking them to a Braums, Violet took them to the Braums Factory. Violet’s future plans are to continue her education at Oklahoma State University to obtain a degree in Elementary Education with the goal of becoming a kindergarten teacher.



OLIVIA DANIELLE BROWN is serving as the crown bearer for Homecoming. She is the daughter of Ashley and Gage Brown and the younger sister of Khloe and Abigail McKisson. She is the granddaughter of Reggie and Jorma (Yourma) Brown and Tina Simpson. Olivia is in Mrs. Cole’s kindergarten class at Perry Lower Elementary School. Olivia loves playing outside, playing dress up, and being with friends. She also loves all things gymnastics and spending time with her family. When Olivia grows up, she wants to be a teacher.

 

ASH VINCENT CERMAK is serving as gift bearer. He is the son of Tim and Savannah Cermak and has an older brother, Xander. He attends Perry Lower Elementary School and is in Ms. Morrison’s first grade class. Ash loves wrestling with his brother, playing baseball, fishing, and camping. When he grows up, he wants to be a Perry wrestling coach.
