Junior High STEM Awarded Grants

The Perry Junior High STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) program, instructed by Mr. Laddie Rupp, was introduced to 7th and 8th grade students last year, and is well on its way to another successful year.

The program was recently approved for a $34,670 grant from Oklahoma CareerTech to fund junior high classroom equipment for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The following items were included in the budget request for this grant: VEX robotic kits, 3D printers, laser engraver, cricut vinyl cutter and kits, T15 star drive screwdrivers, and Logitech Mevo cameras for robots.

Additionally, the program received a $9,000 grant this past spring from Toro Robotics for additional VEX robot items and tools.

The new equipment will greatly enhance the student learning experience for Perry Junior High School students for many years to come.
