What is an excused absence?
- Personal or family illness, substantiated by a doctor's statement or a parent/guardian phone call to the school office.
- In-school appointments (with a counselor or nurse)
- Medical or dental appointments with verification from the medical professional indicating the date and time of appointment
- Legal matters, e.g., subpeoned court appearances, service on a jury
- Extenuating circumstances determined by the principal to be an excused absence, e.g. funeral
- Observance of holidays required by a student's religious affiliation
- Family business trips and educational trips prearranged by the parent.
- Seniors will be allowed two "college" days
